Thames News
Thames News was the station's main regional evening news magazine programme, broadcast between September 1978 and the end of 1992, when the Thames TV franchise ended.
It succeeded Thames at Six and, before that, the Today programme, which had been presented by Eamonn Andrews and Bill Grundy (everyone has seen the clip of the latter's disastrous interview with The Sex Pistols in 1976).
Thames also produced a Friday evening bulletin for London Weekend Television, called Thames Weekend News, which either stood alone or formed part of LWT's The Six O' Clock Show.
The final edition of Thames News, on 31 December 1992, was presented by Steve Clarke and Gytha Hutton.
